NMS Celebrates Black History Month

NMS Gifted and Talented students completed a "You Know...But Did You Know?" project to celebrate important figures in Black History.  The students picked one well-known person who has had an impact on Black History and one lesser-known person.  The students tried to pick people who had a connection in some way to the other person.  For instance, Ruby Bridges was the first Black girl to attend an integrated school which paved the way for future successful Black women like our first Black Vice President, Kamala Harris.  The idea behind this project was to celebrate the well-known person and to introduce the lesser-known person to our students.  Here are some of the posters from this project.
