Dyslexia is often defined as an unexpected difficulty with reading, writing or spelling in spite of good intelligence, good education, good health, and a good home life.  Newton Elementary uses an Orton-Gillingham method to teach phonics to our dyslexic students.  This is a multisensory method for teaching reading. 

All children can learn, but the depth of their growth is often dependant upon the curriculum and the instructor.
