Black History Living Museum
The NMS GT and Beta Club have been conducting research projects to learn about influential African Americans who have made an impact on Black history or the Civil Rights Movement. The students will take on the persona of the people they researched, and talk to the “museum” visitors in character.

Second Team Defense
January 10, 2018
I am excited to present you with your official MaxPreps All-American Certificate! As much as you deem it an honor to receive this prestigious award, know that I am equally honored to bestow it upon you. While there are over 1,000,000 high school football athletes, being named to the MaxPreps Junior All-American Team Second Team Defense puts you in a truly elite class-the top 0.000016 percent (that's less than 1/10,000 of 1 percent)!
Under the tutelage of Coach W.T. Johnston and his staff, you've learned that it takes more than personal dedication and devotion...more than your own God-given physical talents to achieve this level of success. Please share MaxPreps' gratitude and appreciation for the support that you have received from the administration and entire student body at Newton.
Wherever life takes you from here, know that commitment, hard work, determination, teamwork and perseverance you have demonstrated on the gridiron will also serve you equally well off the field.
Thank you for helping make this football season an exciting and memorable one for all of us that got to watch you compete.
