NMS Gifted and Talented and Beta Club


Black History Living Museum

The NMS GT and Beta Club have been conducting research projects to learn about influential African Americans who have made an impact on Black history or the Civil Rights Movement.  The students will take on the persona of the people they researched, and talk to the “museum” visitors in character.

1st Period 

8:15-8:57--parents, visitors, etc.  (You may come and go during this time)

Visitors are also welcome to come during the following tour  

times with students.


2nd period--6th grade 

9:05-9:25--McCullough, Messer, and Spivey (6th graders)

9:25-9:45--Vosti, White, and Gulley's 6th graders .  


3rd period--7th grade 

9:57-10:17--Gulley,  Kelley, 7th grade boys' PE).  

10:17-10:37--Hudson, Martin, Winters, and Spivey  (7th graders).


4th period--8th grade

10:47-11:07--Couey, Haymon, 8th grade band  

11:07-11:27--Vinson, Diggles (8th grade only), and Winters (8th graders)

The Equine Science and Advanced Animal Science classes went to the Delta Equine Center along with the CBI classes.


They learned TONS about horses and potential job opportunities within a Veterinary Clinic.

Blair Mulhollan and Joseph Craft 

traveled to Austin, Texas last week to compete in the

2018 Special Olympics Winter Games.

They competed in the bowling competition and both came away with

personal best scores and silver medals in their divisions!

Congratulations, kiddos! You rocked it!
