Class Expecations

 

CLASS EXPECTATIONS, POLICIES, AND PROCEDURES

 

 

 

dsg1. Students will enter the classroom quietly and begin their bell work which will be on the board.

2.  Students will NOT be assigned locker this year.  Instead, they will be allowed to carry their backpacks with them throughout the day.  Students will have a designated area in my class to store them during class time.

3.  Students will be required to place cell phones in my “phone jail”.  Cell phones MUST be turned off.  Infractions of this rule will result in the cell phone being confiscated and turned into the office.

4.  Students will be accountable for arriving to class in the time frame given.  Arriving late to class will count as a TARDY unless the student has a valid excuse or note.  Students who are marked tardy 3 times in a one week period will be subject to disciplinary action.

5.  Students will be assigned LUNCH DETENTION at the teacher’s discretion for Level 1 offenses.  After receiving 5 lunch detentions, the student will be assigned to a day of ISS.

 

 


Grading Policy

 

adfgadfgAccording to NISD policy, students must have a total of 6 daily grades and 3 test grades.

Daily Grades – 40%

Test Grades – 60%

 

Grades will be updated every week.

 

 

 

 


AR TESTS

lllkjjklkjlkjlkjlStudents are required to take AR tests.  This will be used as a TEST grade each six weeks.  The test grade will be determined by averaging their six weeks AR Points Goal and AR Reading Comprehension grade.

 

 

 

 

 

 


Retesting

testingWhen the reteaching cycle has been completed, the teacher shall retest the student.  The student will be required to retake ALL major tests.  The two grades shall be averaged and the new grade shall not exceed 70.  Interim assessments shall be retested and will count as an additional test grade during the grading period it is scheduled.  When a student receives a zero due to academic dishonesty or refusal to take a test, the teacher shall not be required to retest.
