Grading Policy

The following grading scales shall be used throughout the District:

Academic Grades          Conduct Grades

90–100          A                      E         Excellent

80–89            B                      S         Satisfactory

75–79            C                     N         Needs Improvement

70–74            D                     U         Unsatisfactory

0–69              F         

            

GRADE PERCENTAGES

 

 

The District shall use the following percentages grouped by appropriate grade level in the computation of

academic grades with the exception of prekindergarten and kindergarten students, who shall receive a skills

based report card that will show object times mastered during the school year:

HOMEWORK / DAILY GRADES

 

 

 

Examples of homework and daily grades shall include but not be limited to:

  • Work completed at home by the student;
  • Independent practice completed in class;
  • Daily quizzes; and
  • Flashcard quizzes.

 

TEST / MAJOR GRADES

 

 

 

Examples of tests and major grades shall include, but not be limited to, weekly tests, projects, book reports,

term papers, and six- week tests.

 

SEMESTER TESTS

 

 

Semester tests shall count as one-seventh of the semester grade.  Each of the three six-week grades shall be doubled

and averaged with the semester test.

 

EXEMPTIONS

 

 

High school students may be exempt from semester exams using the following criteria:

  • 75 average with no absences;
  • 85 average with one absence;
  • 90 average with two absences; or
  • 95 average with three absences.

EXTRA CREDIT

I will periodically be giving Extra Credit assignments.  They are available for all students enrolled in that

particular subject area.
